21st Sunday After Pentecost

Welcome to Our Worship: In today’s first reading God uses the Gentile ruler Cyrus to accomplish divine purposes. When the Pharisees try to trap Jesus, he tells them to give the emperor what belongs to him and to God what belongs to God. To gather for worship reminds us that our ultimate allegiance is to God rather than to any earthly authority. Created in the image of God, we offer our entire selves in the service of God and for the sake of the world.

Laity Worship: For Lutherans, worship stands at the center of our life of faith, and we are pleased to welcome you today. Through God’s word and through prayer we are nurtured in faith and sent out into the world. Connected with and central to everything we do, worship unites us in celebration, engages us in thoughtful dialogue and helps us grow in faith. If you are visiting or new to our faith family, please fill out the yellow guest card and put it in the offering plate so we may have a record of your presence today. Come back and worship with us each Sunday at 10 a.m.

Fellowship: Please join us after worship today in the Fellowship Hall for food, conversation, and a Temple Talk by Pastor Clay Mason of  Trindad's The Way ministry.
