Sunday, Feb. 13,  is almost a 'national holiday' in our country as so many gather to watch a football game…but, starting in 1990, youth from churches all across the United States have highlighted hunger needs and asked people to collect SOUP on this particular Sunday, which gives another meaning to “Souper” Sunday.  

It started with this prayer:  "Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those who are without a bowl of soup to eat," and it continues as we continue to pray for those who do not have enough to eat.  

So Sunday, Feb. 13, we at Zion's will join with people of all denominations and states as we too collect cans of SOUP and have a special offering for our own soup kitchen in Trinidad.  My apologies for forgetting to announce and remind you, but I hope you have time to grab some cans of soup and bring them (or cash) to worship tomorrow.  

Monday IS a national holiday (Valentine’s Day) and our worship series on LOVE continues.  Come and share God's vision of LOVING in the Kingdom of Heaven way!

We have about 4-inches of snow this morning and boy is it bright!  May the SON shine brightly in you and your world this day.
