Each Thanksgiving for more than 30 years, Zion’s Lutheran works with individuals and area businesses to prepare, serve, and deliver hundreds of Thanksgiving dinners to the community. Meals are free to anyone who wants one and all are welcomed. Many people dine at Zion’s to share Thanksgiving Day. Some people request meals for delivery and others prefer to pick up their dinners at the church.
Again, this year, we look forward to the chance to gather as a community to share fellowship, to renew friendships, and to make new friends.
However, this time-honored tradition is not possible without the contributions of people who are willing to donate funds as well as to share their time and talents to support this undertaking. Our support comes from within the Zion’s congregation, as well as from the community at large, and our to do list is extensive.
Take time to review the lists below and see how many ways you can help:
For more information, talk to Norine Hazen. If you can help with delivering meals, let Jo Moss know.
Also, if you would like to donate, you can give via check or cash by mail to 510 Pine Street or by placing your donation in the offering plate with a designation of “Thanksgiving” on the check or envelope. You also can give online at: https://tithe.ly/give_new/www/#/tithely/give-one-time/1334741. Designate that donation as a Special Offering for Thanksgiving.
