Welcome Friends and Guests: This week, the center of the church’s year, is one of striking contrasts: Jesus rides into Jerusalem surrounded by shouts of glory, only to be left alone to die on the cross, abandoned by even his closest friends. Mark’s gospel presents Jesus in his complete human vulnerability: agitated, grieved, scared, forsaken. Though we lament Christ’s suffering and all human suffering, we also expect God’s salvation: in the wine and bread, Jesus promises that his death will mark a new covenant with all people. We enter this holy week thirsty for the completion of God’s astonishing work.
Worship and Communion: In God's boundless diversity, we are made in God's image! If you are visiting or new to our faith family, please fill out a yellow guest card and put it in the offering plate so we have a record of your visit. Come back and worship with us each Sunday at 10 a.m. Those worshiping today may come forward for the sacraments of Holy Communion (gluten-free bread, wine or grape juice) or to cross your arms across your chest for a blessing. This is Christ’s table, all are welcome, as Christ welcomes all.
Fellowship: Join us after worship today in the Fellowship Hall for coffee and conversation and to dye Easter Eggs for the 5-Loaves meal ministry. We also will have a new member orientation for those who would like to join Zion's Lutheran next Sunday as part of our Easter Celebration.
